In-Line Operations for Plastic Extrusions
Extrusions move at a continuous speed so there are a number of in-line operations that can be performed at a very low cost.
There are many ways to customize your plastic extrusions:
- Material such as tape, magnet, decorative foils, or velcro can be applied during the extrusion process.
- A stationary ink jet print head can be used to print phone numbers, date codes, or other information directly on a plastic extrusion profile.
- Punching or notching profiles can be engineered to operate on a preset basis to provide fabrication during the extrusion process.
- Hot stamping applications can also be used to decorate the surface of a profile extrusion. Through a combination of heat and pressure the hot stamping foil is rolled onto a plastic profile. There are almost an unlimited number of foil patterns available: including woodgrains, metallic and holographics.
